What we collect and why

We only collect the personal information we need to answer your enquiries and manage your booking.

Contact form
When you send us a message, we collect the name, email address and message you provide. We use this to reply to you.
Bookings
Bookings are processed by our booking provider, freetobook. When you make a reservation you enter your details on their platform. See their privacy policy for how they handle that data.
Technical information
Our hosting provider (Vercel) records standard server logs including IP address, browser type and request time for security and performance monitoring.

Legal basis

We rely on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR:

  • Consent — for optional cookies and any marketing communications you sign up for.
  • Contract — to manage and fulfil your booking.
  • Legitimate interests — to reply to enquiries, keep the site secure, and understand how it is used in aggregate.
  • Legal obligation — where we’re required to keep records (e.g. tax, accounting).

Who we share data with

We don’t sell your personal information. We share data only with providers who help us run the business, under appropriate agreements:

  • freetobook — our booking system
  • Vercel — website hosting
  • Google Maps — the map on our contact page is served by Google, which may set its own cookies

How long we keep it

Contact form messages are kept only as long as we need them to handle your enquiry. Booking records are retained for as long as required by law (typically 6 years for accounting purposes). Server logs are kept for up to 30 days.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct anything that’s wrong
  • Ask us to delete your data (where we’re allowed to)
  • Restrict or object to how we process it
  • Withdraw your consent at any time
  • Ask for a copy in a portable format

To exercise any of these, email us at hello@creekguesthouse.co.uk. If you’re not happy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies

See our Cookie Policy for a full breakdown of the cookies used on this site and how to control them.

We’ll update this page if anything changes. The “last updated” date at the top will always tell you when.
